Throughout the year, we successfully hosted three Core Advocacy Training (CAT) sessions and one advanced advocacy training. We trained 971 individual participants over the year.
Our annual conference served as a valuable platform for networking, learning, and sharing insights among 341 participants throughout the State of Utah.

The Utah Domestic Violence Coalition is dedicated to listening to professionals and survivors impacted by domestic violence, and we are always working on evolving our programs to better serve their needs. The following Home Safe programs highlight our commitment to stopping violence.
HomeSafe Program provides flexible financial assistance for survivors of DV in order for them to attain/maintain safe, stable housing. It is utilized by Domestic Violence Service Providers (DV shelter programs) and community partners that are not primarily serving DV victims, but have programs that do. These include culturally-specific, system and community-based programs.
Utah’s housing market and rise in rental costs continue to create additional barriers for survivors. The number of agencies and survivors participating in HomeSafe continues to grow, and while being able to reach more survivors is the goal, this also means that the funds spend down faster which limits the availability of the program as it may be closed for weeks at a time to conserve the limited funding.
In the interim of the funds being closed, we asked providers to fill out a form for unserved individuals to better understand what additional funds are needed across the state. The form launched in December of 2022, and indicated that there was an unmet need of $77,015 from Jan - June of 2023. This speaks volumes as we know that we’re not receiving this survey from everyone who would be filling out the expenditure form if it were open, and that this is only a snapshot.
