Mission

JCAM functions as a burial society for the Jewish communities of Massachusetts, while honoring the dead in accordance with Jewish religious practices, traditions and beliefs. JCAM is committed to the maintenance and security of the existing and abandoned cemeteries under its care and provides continuity of their operation. The preservation of JCAM cemeteries includes the maintenance of assets, archives and records. JCAM educates the public through heightened awareness of the social, cultural and historic elements of Jewish cemeteries in Massachusetts.

Goals

1.JCAM has a greater capacity to take in and restore all abandoned, at-risk Jewish cemeteries in the region.
2.A more robust "Helping Hand" fund capable of meeting the immediate needs of the community with JCAM as the trusted organization steward of funds for the Helping Hand fund.
3.JCAM is widely recognized as the definitive model of Jewish cemetery ownership and preservation across America, providing counsel to others, and, through its critical work, successfully preserving Jewish history for future generations.
