Vision

We aspire to completely eradicate the epidemic of domestic violence and to create a world where everyone can feel safe in their own home.

Goals

1. 1.Genesis wraparound services for survivors of domestic violence were developed by experts in the field over the past 40 years, resulting in a holistic approach that is customized for every client. The organization began as a 7-bed shelter in 1985 and has grown to include both residential and nonresidential services with 3 locations across Dallas County. We continue to grow and scale as necessary.
2. 2.In 2020, Genesis implemented Occupational Therapy for survivors of domestic violence in response to an observed need for support in both physical manifestations of trauma and developmental delays in children. This program was the first of its kind in the U.S. In 2022, Genesis opened a nonresidential location in the most underserved community of Dallas County addressing the service gap for women.
3. 3.In 2023, Genesis opened a new nonresidential facility that doubled our physical space and increased our capacity to serve clients. In doing so, we implemented a trauma-informed facility with all new equipment, including a sensory room for nervous system regulation and a sensory walk space for outdoor therapy sessions.
