Vision

Our vision is to uphold the highest standards of artistic instrument and bow making and make it possible for musicians and makers of classical violin family instruments and their bows, of current and future generations, to benefit from the beauty of our musical traditions.

Goals

1. 1.Just and effective protection of endangered species used in musical instruments requires the input of all constituencies. We aim to provide informed representation before national and international regulatory bodies (FWS.gov, CITES.org, etc) and share the concerns of musicians and instrument makers and advise how best to balance conservation with the preservation of our classical music traditions.
2. 2.The next generation of instrument and bow makers needs- and wants- to know how to ensure sustainability when choosing natural materials used in their work. The Alliance created a curriculum for violin and bow making students to increase awareness of the importance of sustainable use of natural materials
3. 3.For many years we have supported conservation and reforestation projects in Brazil, Europe, and Africa . We seek to expand this work and start help support other organizations that are requesting out help at this time.
