Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation

The mission of the Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation is to provide social, emotional, educational, and psychological support services and programs to families of all children diagnosed with life threatening or critical illnesses such as cancer, HIV/AIDS, sickle cell, hemophilia, renal disorders, and immunologic diseases and provide healing arts and wellness programs to adults touched by cancer and to chronically ill children and their caregivers.

Goal One: Provide additional resources for our adult population as it continues to grow.

Goal Two: Fluid Informational technology to assist clients, staff and donors.

Goal Three: More outreach. To be a constant advocate in the doctors offices In the schools. Making sure every person has access, knows what we provide, and how we assist in the community.

We outsourced our Human Resources with ADP. Total Source provides training programs within the paid for services. We provide access and paid for training for all staff. The company provides CEU training in industry specific courses investing in our staff supporting the desire to provide better services to clients.

We staff cases with other clinics ensuring the client needs are met. We provide space at our events for community partners. We attend events of community partners. Working toward the good of the client. Our licensed social workers ensure families are referred to every resource they qualify for. We foster healthy relationships with non-profits as well as for profit businesses in our community.

Due to the pandemic the Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation as many others were blind-sided by the global shut down and restrictions placed on resources. Our only option was to make adjustments to "the old way of doing things" Our team does an incredible job of pre-planning and troubleshooting the what ifs, however, the magnitude of the issue at hand was a bit overwhelming. Our team jumped in and welcomed the opportunity to overhaul our "normal" process. Adapting to the unknowns of 2020 allowed our team the ability to identify areas that needed improvement and make necessary adjustments toward a more efficient process over all. It allowed the flexibility to focus on our external presence and areas to better over all. Additionally, provided a reassurance of the impact we have in our community and the support that community provides in return as well as the strength of our team.
