Vision

Our vision is to create universal awareness among medical professionals about the syndrome so VEXAS can be rapidly diagnosed. Once diagnosed, offer patients a curative treatment plan or one that allows them to maintain an active life style and average life span.

Goals

1. 1.The VEXAS 101 research guide was first published in 2025 and is referred to as VEXAS 101 since it serves as a clear starting point for understanding VEXAS. Education is empowerment, and our goal is to provide parents and medical professionals with reliable information that shortens the time to diagnosis, improves clinical care, and ultimately leads to better outcomes.
2. 2.Increased awareness within the patient and medical communities is key to improving outcomes for patients with VEXAS syndrome. We have scaled back efforts around discovery and/or pure research and are redirecting efforts to patient advocacy and collaboration within the medical committee.
3. 3.The Foundation supported efforts to have an ICD-10 (International Classification of Diseases) code for VEXAS syndrome. An ICD-10 code gives VEXAS an official identity used by electronic health records, insurers, hospitals, and national registries. We act as a patient advocate working alongside pharmaceutical companies to help shape clinical studies that reflect patient needs and priorities.
