Vision

Our reporting will work in the service of a county where: Housing is fair and affordable. Public transportation is accessible and reliable. Systems of justice and public safety are restorative. Health care is available long before the moment of crisis. Our air and water are free from pollutants. We need accessible information that helps us understand the complicated web of public agencies and power brokers who wield tremendous authority over our everyday lives. We need to celebrate and learn from the accomplishments of our neighbors who move us all forward. Los Angeles is the most populous county in the United States. Three-quarters of its residents are people of color, and 55% speak a language other than English at home. But legacy media has long erased most of us, and treated the consequential decisions that affect us like a spectator sport.

Goals

1. 1.Residents can easily obtain information about how to engage with their local government.
2. 2.Organizers and activists working in service of a better Los Angeles, regardless of political affiliation or candidate, are more informed to improve outcomes for their communities.
