Mission

Brooklyn FAM’s mission is to empower and build community through the universal power of the arts. We work in and with communities across the borough of Brooklyn to design and produce free, high-quality, intergenerational, culturally diverse community arts programming that centers marginalized voices and creates safe, welcoming space for folks to tell their own stories, listen, connect, create, and, in creating, build understanding and new empathic connections. We believe that empathy is the root of social change. As an organization, we celebrate diversity, seek connection, honor authenticity, maximize access, cultivate creativity, and, above all, act in love to embrace our shared humanity and pursue racial and social justice and shared abundance.
