Food Forward envisions a future where all people have access to fresh produce and food waste is drastically reduced, resulting in nourished communities and a healthy environment.

Goals

1. 1.Food Forward is focused on recovering fresh produce from an increasing number of sources to enable us to distribute over 100 million pounds (566 million servings) in 2026. Diverse sourcing improves our efficiency and helps us remain responsive to emerging threats to fresh food access, particularly as projected SNAP cuts drive the demand for community-based hunger relief across Southern California.
2. 2.Food Forward is deepening partnerships with over 250 hunger relief organizations to ensure large-scale produce donations reach our most under-resourced partners serving areas with the highest rates of food and nutrition insecurity. On an average day, Food Forward distributes enough fruits and vegetables to our partners across the region to meet the recommended servings for over 310,000 people.
3. 3.In late 2025, Food Forward expanded our Wholesale Recovery Program warehouse from 16,000 to 30,000 square feet. In 2026, we are fully activating the expanded space through critical infrastructure upgrades, additional refrigeration, increased dock loading capacity, and refined workflows to help us sustain at least 100 million pounds of annual distribution.
