Goals

1. 1.Create with Nature, Every Kindergartener in the Garden, Explore to Read, Garden Guardians, Cultivating Conservations, Botanical Art Festival programs, Music in the Garden, Tai Chi, Qigong, Pilates, self-guided nature walks, labyrinth walks, invasive species awareness workshops, poetry in nature, Garden tours, and more, the BGP offers a welcoming environment for people of all ages.
2. 2.partnered with the City of Charlottesville and the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality to restore 820 linear feet of the Schenk’s Branch Tributary and its riparian buffer, a corridor that bisects the Garden’s 14.7 acres and is a central feature of its design.
3. 3.BGP has submitted multiple capital campaign grants with matching dollar capacity to grow the Garden. The Capital Campaign Steering Committee was created to serve a vital role in the financial management of the campaign.
