Northwest Immigrant Rights Project (NWIRP)

Mission

Northwest Immigrant Rights Project (NIRP) promotes justice by defending and advancing the rights of immigrants through direct legal services, systemic advocacy, and community education. In 2025, NWIRP served 40,616 community members with direct legal services and community education. Clients receiving direct legal services came from 148 countries and spoke 81 different languages. NWIRP also strives to achieve systemic change to policies and practices affecting immigrants through impact litigation, public policy work, and community education. NWIRP serves the community from four offices in Washington State in Seattle, Granger, Tacoma, and Wenatchee.

Goals

1.Strengthen Community Engagement and Service Delivery: By 2030, we will strengthen our organizational capacity by enhancing staff competencies and NWIRP’s service delivery model, supporting targeted outreach and engagement efforts, and centralizing resource management to ensure that client communities have increased access to our services.
2.Sustain Core Services and Support Strategic Growth: By 2030, we aim to enhance organizational sustainability and public support for our mission by diversifying our funding sources and effectively communicating our impact.
3.Leverage Technology to Enhance Organizational Efficiency: By 2030, modernize and optimize NWIRP’s information and technology (IT) infrastructure to improve operational efficiency, enhance client engagement and services, and facilitate data-driven decision-making across the organization.
