North Helpline

Mission

Since 1989, North Helpline’s purpose has been to alleviate the impacts of hunger and housing insecurity in the North King County community. We believe that all deserve adequate food, housing, and respect. We assist our neighbors in obtaining basic needs that affirm their human dignity and worth. We strive to fulfill this mission by serving the whole person, including providing access to healthy food, financial housing assistance, and other community resources that support approximately 6,000 individuals per year.

Goals

1.1. Neighbors have dignity of choice for food access. Strategy 1.1: Provide more culturally relevant and familiar food Strategy 1.2: Research and pilot alternative models that center choice Strategy 1.3: Gather input from our neighbors about their food needs
2.2. Neighbors have increased access to resources that help them thrive. Strategy 2.1: Engage and build relationships with diverse communities Strategy 2.2: Serve as a connector across service providers Strategy 2.3: Ensure North Helpline’s Client Services are visible and easily understood
3.3. Our organizational capacity allows us to support our neighbors’ needs in alignment with our values. Strategy 3.1: Invest in people and relationships Strategy 3.2: Diversify and strengthen our funding streams Strategy 3.3: Strengthen our internal infrastructure
