Mission

Founded in 1990, WAIF (Whidbey Animals' Improvement Foundation) is a non-profit organization on Whidbey Island, in the state of Washington, that helps pets and their people. WAIF's mission is to save and protect companion animals, provide compassionate care, advocate for their welfare and positively promote the human-animal connection. We envision a world where every companion animal has a safe and loving home. Our greatest strength is the community's passion, commitment, and generosity. People working together for animals is the heart and soul of WAIF.

1.We recently increased the values of our coupon assistance programs for low-income households, along with another program to reduce unwanted cat population through spaying of females.
2.COVID brought to our attention the number of permanent and temporary homebound people and the reason we would like to create a mobile pet food bank.
3.We are one of the few nonprofit organizations that serve our entire island population. Reaching out through outreach with personal appearances will help spread our message about S/N, adoptions. etc.
