The Swedish Finn Historical Society

Mission

To honor our cultural heritage by collecting, safeguarding and sharing the cultural and emigration history of Swedish Finns globally, and by fostering connections between Swedish Finns and their ancestral roots in Finland.”

Vision

Goals

1.Technology - Increase system productivity and improve usability by: update all currently used applications with new administrative and misc. users & passwords; Develop and document a technological approach that results in making the management of SFHS easier; Develop a strategy to digitize SFHS archives, which archives are of highest to lowest priority
2.Membership/Membership Benefits - Ensure we provide member benefits for the price of current membership dues ;Develop a 'social media strategy', in which the objective is to convert 10% of Facebook members to paying SFHS members.
3.Ensure genealogy capabilities and resources are established to help with genealogy queries/questions from members; Research previous decisions re: how much genealogy work members are entitled to, cost per hour to SFHS members & non-members; Develop a plan for tracking genealogy help (time & costs) and how to collect money from requesters
