Vision

The vision of the Alaska Raptor Center centers on operating a first-class avian hospital by building constituencies and partnerships essential to our mission. We protect all species of birds through education, environmental conservation and research. We foster a positive working culture of dedicated, passionate and skilled individuals. We embrace lifelong learning, continuous improvements, and adapt to change as it arises.

Goals

1. 1.The Alaska Raptor Center developed a new "Wings of Awareness" program, which invites all members of the public in the Sitka community and beyond to participate in yoga featuring bird and other animal poses. These yoga sessions promote health and wellness for individuals, animals, and the environment. The Alaska Raptor Center plans to partner with other community organizations continuously.
2. 2.To grow, expand, and increase access to Alaska Raptor Center tours and bird-on-the-glove programs, the ARC team will develop and release an RFP that will announce ARC’s desire to contract with a consultant to develop a new Master Plan for the Sitka Campus. RFP to include specifics of what the Master Plan must include but not be limited to earthworks with interpretive panels for wildlife trails.
3. 3.The Alaska raptor team plans to partner with rural communities throughout Southeast Alaska and beyond to provide American Bald Eagle rescue kits, which will include a leather jacket, large net, blankets, gloves, and kennels to empower Alaskan residents and visitors on a recourse to help sustain and protect all avian wildlife.
