    Mission

Koahnic Broadcast Corporation (KBC) is the nation's primary producer and distributor of Native public radio programming and operates Anchorage-based KNBA 90.3, the nation's first Native station serving an urban area. Our award-winning national programs include news and public affairs shows Native America Calling and National Native News; and Indigefi, a weekly Native music program. KBC operates Native Voice One (NV1), the national Native radio program distribution service. Through NV1 distribution, Native radio programs reach the majority of the Alaska Native population and the American Indian reservation audience. NV1 station affiliation includes 400 public radio stations, of which 54 are Native stations. Many more listeners access our NV1 and KNBA web streams on mobile devices to hear the shows that are engaging Native America. Our online radio web stream, The RIVR (Rising Indigenous Voices Radio), mixes cultural and educational content and music for teens and young adults.
