Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors

Mission

The Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS) is the national nonprofit organization providing compassionate care, comprehensive grief support, and trauma-informed services to the families of America’s fallen military heroes. Since 1994, TAPS has stood beside everyone grieving the death of a military loved one, offering hope, healing, and a community of care through every stage of the grief journey. Through a nationally recognized model of peer-based emotional support and comprehensive survivor care, TAPS provides casework assistance, grief and trauma resources, community-based care, online and in-person support groups, restorative retreats for adults, Good Grief Camps for children, and the 24/7 National Military Survivor Helpline. Every service is provided at no cost to surviving families, ensuring that no military survivor has to navigate grief alone.
