Mission

SparkNC Empowers students to discover careers in high-tech fields like cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and computer systems engineering. We help schools move away from traditional classes and rigid schedules. Instead, learners choose what, where an how they learn whether in or beyond their SparkLab. Our SparkLab leaders have flexibility to use innovative strategies to support learning and exploration in their own labs and across our interdistrict network of 25 districts and growing. We offer a wide variety of learning experiences in different modalities, hands-on, community-embedded, on-demand and more! Learners build technical and durable skills and showcase what they are learning and creating in their digital portfolios and during demo days. Students also connect with industry experts through in-person events, team-based internships and other experiences. SparkNC ensures our Spark Scholars have a competitive edge on their way to high-wage and social impactful careers, providing a dynamic talent pipeline for North Carolina.
