Vision

Coos County Historical Society’s vision is for its museum to be a welcoming community gathering place and a valued regional resource. The museum shares intriguing human stories about Coos County and Oregon’s South Coast and helps diverse audiences connect with each other and with the region’s culture, history, and heritage.

Goals

1. 1.establish a financial plan that supports stability and growth; expand and diversify revenue streams
2. 2.Improve collections stewardship by hiring a collections manager, improving collections care and storage; strengthen collections engagment through improved access, policy refinement and interpretive planning
3. 3.Improve governance and board leadership because we have a mostly new board that needs training; goals are to build a high-functioning and accountable board culture; improve the board-ED relationship and strengthen performance as a team.
