Mission

Oregon Ballet Theatre is committed to sharing our passion for the expressive power of ballet, inspiring an enduring appreciation of dance, and connecting in meaningful ways to our community through excellence in performance, training and educational programs. Established in 1989, OBT is the only full-time operating ballet company in the Portland metropolitan region. The ballet company performs an annual season of four programs. Our continuing goal is to provide our community with quality performances, featuring our professional ballet company; education and training of the highest caliber through our school, providing professional training for dancers interested in a career in ballet and dance instruction for all ages; and our Outreach activities focused on our community youth through our onsite residencies in the classroom and the opportunity to attend our student performance series.
