WASHINGTON STATE OPPORTUNITY SCHOLARSHIP FOUNDATION

Mission

The mission of the Washington State Opportunity Scholarship (WSOS) is to transform Washington state by building pathways to high-demand jobs that strengthen our communities and economy.  As of September 1, 2024, WSOS is administered by the Washington State Opportunity Scholarship Foundation. Since 2011, WSOS has operated through other program administrators and has demonstrated statewide impact.

Vision

We envision a Washington where all residents have access to our state’s best jobs, and our companies have the diverse, local talent they need to innovate for the world.

Goals

1.Build scalable, statewide programs. We aim to have demonstrated impact all across the state of Washington that is focused on our intended impacts and theory of change. We are Scholar-centric in our program design.
2.Build the brand. We aim to build state-wide awareness of our program and Scholars by providing thought leadership and evidence of our impact.
3.Fund to 2030. We are transitioning from a sunset to a sustaining model where we are building a $10M/year fundraising program to grow the number of students who will be served into the future.
