American Heroes Motorcycle Association Fl1
Mission
Our mission is to ensure and provide resources, education and peer support for our service members with PTSD and their families. Our main mission is literally heroes healing American heroes The American Heroes Motorcycle Association, founded by Bubba and The Counselor to bring together service members from various disciplines but with overall similar background. As veterans, we donned our uniform to protect, serve and keep our country safe, usually on foreign soil while our first responders kept our families safe by patrolling the streets, providing fire and medical services in our community. "We" who continue to dedicate our life to helping others, serving others, promoting brother and sisterhood, healing and family share the same troubles and desires. We all experience similar issues and feel that we are stronger under 1 patch. There is a lot of focus on 'awareness' well, we want to 'do', there is plenty of awareness of veteran and first responder suicide - it is time to act. Our goal is to bring people together, provide resources and training to help each other. There is a wealth of resources for managing PTSD and other service-related issues however, we feel that the first line of defense that stands between us and PTSD lies with us. It's time that "We" stand in unity under one patch.
Vision
Our vision is to provide education, peer support and resources to decrease if not help end suffering and suicide from service connected PTSD and TBI.
Goals
- 1.Goal to increase access so all have access to peer support & resources so we can see the number of service connected suicides decrease. How, by being present in our community, involved in suicide research & stats to save more lives & engage sponsors, donors & public in awareness, educate others where they can help and reach as many as possible by doing projects, engagement and events.
- 2.Provide resources and assist military, veterans, first responders and their families with vetted resources for help with service connected PTSD by working with local partners, advocacy groups and centers, the VA and others within the community. The goal is to ensure resource availability for not only the service member but the spouse, children, parents and even coworkers.
- 3.Our program is intended to involve the community as a whole. Attending or hosting community events targeting suicide, military and first responders is our main focus, scaling back on events targeting other issues/causes or groups. Attending more training to ensure we are providing the best peer support possible.
