The Marin Humane Society

Mission

Marin Humane’s mission is to transform lives through exceptional animal care, humane education, and advocacy. Every day, we inspire compassion and positive relationships between people and animals. For more than 100 years, Marin Humane has stood at the forefront of animal welfare, championing the health, safety, and dignity of animals in need. As an open-door shelter, Marin Humane accepts 100% of animals into our care; however, we are more than an animal shelter. Marin Humane helps animals through adoptions, foster care, behavior and training, humane education, pet assistance for people in need, lost-and-found pet services, veterinary services, disaster and emergency response, and more.

Vision

Marin Humane’s vision is a humane world for every animal.

Goals

1.Analyze and evaluate data for decision-making, reduce length of stay and surrenders, ensure 90% adoption placement, guardian return, adoption transfer, share resources with other orgs.
2.Expand assistance programs to all in need, expand children’s humane education, and sustain our role as a primary local and regional resource in disaster preparation and relief.
3.Drive organizational growth by remodeling/replacing current facility to create a comprehensive animal resource center facility of the future.
