All veterans will have access to the care and services they need to achieve health, housing, wellness, and stability.

Goals

1. 1.Swords to Plowshares is committed to serving under-resourced veterans through wraparound care grounded in a Housing First approach. Our evolving programs increase access to care and help prevent and end veteran homelessness by advancing housing solutions for all, expanding community-based mental health care, and pursuing impact litigation to foster a more equitable system of care.
2. 2.In 2023, we advocated for and launched a new program to meet the growing needs of aging veterans, based on direct input from the community. In partnership with CalVet, this 3-year statewide pilot is testing solutions to help senior and high-acuity veterans stay housed and healthy. We're conducting an impact evaluation and will advocate for scaling this model statewide and nationwide.
3. 3.Swords to Plowshares works to strengthen systems of care for veterans and their families. We share best practices and advocate for effective policies to expand access to healthcare, housing, and support. Our work centers on securing meaningful policy change and building an equitable system that truly honors those who served.
