Mission

American Nonsmokers' Rights Foundation (ANR Foundation) is building healthier communities. For over 40 years, we have helped drive one of the most successful public health campaigns in American history: transforming what society considers acceptable through thousands of local and state smokefree policies and a fundamental shift in social norms. As the oldest organization dedicated to eliminating secondhand smoke exposure, we build coalitions and empower communities through lasting policy change—centering frontline workers and those most directly impacted, equipping them with advocacy skills and the infrastructure needed to win.
