Northern Light School
Mission
Northern Light School provides an exceptional education that nurtures each child's potential. Our dedicated faculty creates a supportive environment where students thrive academically, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. Guided by our mission to "educate the whole child" we foster academic excellence, empathy, and social responsibility. We inspire children to embrace non-violence, respect differences and care for the environment. Through this approach, our students become compassionate, capable individuals who make meaningful contributions to their communities and the world.
Vision
Our vision is to educate and empower the whole child by fostering a safe, healthy, and engaging environment where PreK-8th-grade students thrive. We believe a child who feels supported, connected, and inspired is best prepared for lifelong learning, meaningful work, and active citizenship. By integrating rigorous academics, physical wellness, creative expression, social-emotional growth, and a strong sense of community, we create a foundation for success. Committed to accessibility, we provide over one million dollars in scholarships, striving to eliminate the financial barriers to education and welcoming students from all socioeconomic backgrounds. Paired with exceptional teachers, innovative programs, and collaborative partnerships, we cultivate resilient learners and compassionate leaders ready of tomorrow.
Goals
- 1.We focus on achieving our mission by prioritizing core programs that align with our commitment to educating the whole child. Programs that do not directly support our mission or core objectives are thoughtfully scaled back, allowing us to allocate time, energy, and funding to initiatives that foster academic excellence, creativity, and community engagement.
- 2.We invest in the capacity of our organization to ensure long-term sustainability and the ability to meet our mission. This includes professional development for staff, strategic partnerships, and integrating technology. By strengthening staff expertise, expanding access to resources, and improving operational efficiency, we create a foundation for delivering high-quality, inclusive programs.
- 3.One of our strategic goals is to grow, expand, and improve existing programs and services to ensure that every student, regardless of socioeconomic background, has the opportunity to thrive. By broadening the reach of our core initiatives, we can serve more students and create deeper, lasting impacts. This goal reflects our commitment to equity and access to a quality education.
