Mission

Alameda Health System Foundation (AHS Foundation) is committed to advancing health equity in the communities served by Alameda Health System (AHS). We believe that health equity will be achieved when everyone has a fair and just opportunity to be healthy, which requires much more than providing access to quality medical care. We believe in breaking down obstacles to health including poverty and racism, lack of access to quality education and housing, well-paying jobs, safe environments, and health care.

3.Building a Community-Centered Workforce AHS Foundation helps AHS become the most diverse, community-centered workforce committed to eliminating health disparities and promoting health and well-being for all. Workforce development ranges from HealthPATH, a workforce development internship program for youth from the communities AHS serves; to ongoing professional development.
