    Union Gospel Mission, Sacramento

    Mission

Since 1962, the Union Gospel Mission has provided food, clothing, shelter, and a life-changing Gospel message to Sacramento's homeless and struggling populations. The Mission has grown to serve more than 9,000 meals monthly. Every night, we shelter 84 men and assist with mail service, haircuts, and showers continuously. The Gospel is shared every night before dinner for our homeless guests by church groups who also volunteer to serve dinner. Our intensive 10-month Men’s New Life Program is free of charge and accommodates 24 men with a Bible-structured curriculum. A vocational training and job placement program helps men find new beginnings, restoring dignity to broken lives, and providing hope. Our Women's New Life Ministry offers Bible Studies and an opportunity for growth in their knowledge of God. Our Women’s Clothes Closet offers showers and a huge variety of essential items such as clothing, shoes, purses, and hygiene items to assist them with their daily needs, help them prepare for work, and provide for their children. We provide food baskets to seniors and families, including special holiday meals such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter. UGM’s Mission Statement: We aim to MEET people’s practical needs, TRAIN biblically, and SEND transformed lives back into society and the local church, prepared for life.
