Vision

The Amazon rainforest and rainforests of Central America–-the regions where Rainforest Foundation US works--thrive under the care of Indigenous peoples. Deforestation is reduced to a negligible amount and biodiversity flourishes, and It is widely recognized that it's a result of communities’ rights being respected and enforced, and their institutions have been adequately financed. Such evidence has prompted the titling of significant new tracts of territories as well as the adoption of a rights-based model across the environmental movement. Indigenous peoples play increasingly influential and determining roles in forest and climate decision-making. The vital ecosystem services provided by healthy rainforests are recognized by governments and society at large, prompting a greater willingness to fulfill Indigenous peoples’ needs and to realize their development aspirations in accordance with their own values and traditions.

Goals

1. 1.Advance and defend land rights of Indigenous peoples & local communities across almost 14M acres of rainforest
2. 2.Support community-led monitoring over 91M acres of rainforest and other effective management of 43M acres
3. 3.Strengthen 67 Indigenous and local community organizations
