Administrative Capacity
EIF expanded its programs to include delivery of services and support to first responders and communities hardest hit (specifically communities of color and those with limited access to resources). Our fundraising more than doubled over the course of 16 months all due to efforts specifically tied to covid relief. Internal administrative capacity remained the same, although we did engage more partners and collaborators across all of our efforts. Our revenues related to efforts of our fiscal partners more than doubled in 15 months.
We tripled the number of grants typically delivered in the same period. There was a huge investment towards COVID-19 support, especially in highly marginalized communities both domestically and globally.
We began working remotely and ensured that all staff had the resources to work efficiently and effectively. We also integrated virtual convenings with community partners and we produced two telecasts remotely, one of which garnered a Peabody nomination.
More virtual convenings for partners. We developed a secure web based portal providing quick access to basic fund activities to better serve our partners. We expanded our media engagement work on behalf of our partners and developed new relationships with agencies that they engage individually. Those relationships have continued to grow. We produced two telecasts completely remotely resulting in significant production cost savings. One garnered a Peabody nomination. We will continue to consider new production techniques wherever possible.

By mobilizing and leveraging the powerful voice and creative talents of the entertainment industry, as well as cultivating the support of organizations (public and private) and philanthropists committed to social responsibility, EIF builds awareness and raises funds, developing and enhancing programs on the local, national and global level that facilitate positive social change. The nonprofit has an opportunity to tell the story of how the organization adapted to tremendous external changes in the last year.
During a year of mass changes amidst a global pandemic, our organization immediately implemented stay at home procedures/assistance to ensure our staff felt supported while working remotely as they are our most precious resource. Together with each staff member, we designed work plans tailored to each person's unique circumstances. We make an effort to connect more often (and in fun ways) to ensure our staff feel supported and continue to feel a sense of "team" during this difficult time. We immediately identified federal relief programs and funding to sustain operations including potential SBA loans, which were made available as part of the $2 trillion economic relief package. In an effort to be fiscally responsible for our organization, we felt the need to sustain current staffing levels, which is in line with our priorities to support employees.
