San Diego Rescue Mission

Mission

The San Diego Rescue Mission believes every person deserves the chance to rebuild their life with dignity and hope. Since 1955, the non-profit lovingly addresses the needs of men, women and children experiencing homelessness, hunger, poverty and abuse by sharing the Good News of Salvation and providing a holistic approach to rehabilitation and recovery. Through counseling, addiction recovery, education, job training, and housing assistance, they help individuals become self-sufficient members of society once again. In addition, SDRM provides robust services to families supporting educational assistance, parenting classes, and work with Child Protective Services enabling family reunification. Rooted in compassion and proven results, their countywide services include a 12-month residential program for men, women, and children, 30-day emergency shelters, daily street outreach, and community hunger relief. This is proving to increase social drivers of health resulting in increased wellbeing for those served and saving money by reducing the need to access emergency medical resources.
