Mission

United Way of San Diego County's mission is to spark breakthrough community action that elevates every child and family toward a brighter future. We support efforts that improve school readiness, early grade literacy and a full Cradle to Career Success Continuum. We support efforts that lead to family stability, resilience and self-sufficiency; including supports around workforce readiness and health. Our work seeks to create and maintain healthy, safe and livable communities for all children and families. <br><br>United Way has been improving lives by identifying and addressing the root causes of San Diego's most significant community issues for 95 years. We develop localized strategies, harness the resources to implement those strategies, and measure the results. We focus our resources on providing the underpinnings and supports necessary for under-served San Diegan's to become self-sufficient and create better lives. <br><br>
