    United Way of Kern County

    Mission

    United Way of Kern County works in partnership with like-minded individuals and organizations to improve the Education, Income, and Health of our communities. We bring stakeholders together to generate philanthropy from all segments of our community, marshal resources, forge community consensus, and build coalitions and partnerships. The combined result is far greater than the sum of each individual component.<br><br>Our efforts focus on:<br>--Improving the financial stability of working families through financial education, access to public benefits, and asset-building;<br>--Preparing children for success in school and in life through early childhood development and literacy programs, which empower parents to be their children's first teacher.<br>--Reducing hunger and homelessness by leading community-wide coalitions of service providers, educators, government agencies and faith leaders to devise systems-level solutions.
