Vision

Each year NLSLA provides free assistance to nearly 178,000 individuals and families through innovative projects that expand access to justice and address the most critical needs of people living in poverty throughout Los Angeles. At NLSLA, we see the law as a powerful tool to fight for individual rights and social change. Our work aims to unravel entrenched disparities that have resulted from longstanding injustice, systemic racism and institutionalized inequality.

Goals

1. 1.Based on needs identified by our advocates and in our legal needs study, NLSLA will focus on the following priorities for 2026: Housing, Economic Security, Health, Access to Justice, Domestic/Intimate Partner Violence, Community Advancement, and Disaster/Crisis Response.
2. 2.Build social work and case management into everything we do at NLSLA.
3. 3.Continue our goal to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion at all levels of the organization and through its advocacy.
