Mission

Founded in 1981, English Language Institute/China (ELIC) is an educational organization that exists to place passionate people in communities across Asia, the Middle East, and North Africa. We recruit, train, send, and equip men and women from the U.S., Canada, and other countries to meet the ever-growing demand for quality English education and teacher training. While ELIC is focused primarily on meeting educational needs, we believe that we also have a stake in what happens beyond the classroom. Our teachers serve their communities, working on university campuses, in K-12 schools, and in community language centers in over a dozen countries.
