Vision

We envision a world where every animal is valued, protected, and free from unnecessary suffering and where rescue is no longer a necessity because compassion, respect, and guardianship are woven into the fabric of every community. From our sanctuary in the San Jacinto Mountains, we aspire to be a model for humane care, inspiring people everywhere to create safe havens and lasting bonds between humans and animals.

Goals

1. 1.Increase the number of at-risk dogs, cats, and equines rescued from high-kill shelters and other crisis situations by 20% over the next three years while also improving adoption match rates and post-adoption retention through enhanced behavioral training, adopter support programs, and follow-up care.
2. 2.Grow the War Horse Creek and broader equine therapy offerings to serve more veterans, first responders, youth groups, and private clients, integrating measurable wellness outcomes.
3. 3.Strengthen Living Free’s ability to deliver on its mission by investing in staff development, volunteer training, technology upgrades, and operational systems. This includes enhancing administrative infrastructure, expanding leadership and board capacity, and improving data management to support informed decision-making and long-term growth.
