    Mission

Pacific Symphony’s purpose is to nourish, nurture and lift the human spirit and forge a community where everyone belongs. Its mission is to perform inspiring, entertaining and healing music, connect communities through diverse programming, inspire youth, provide therapeutic benefits and promote the well-being of the people of southern California. Since its founding in 1978 it has emerged as a nationally-recognized ensemble dedicated to serving its local county. The orchestra is the largest professional American orchestra established in the last 50 years. It was created to furnish Orange County with classical music, performing in Fullerton at Plummer Auditorium and later at Santa Ana High School Auditorium. In 1986, it moved to the Segerstrom Center for the Arts and later into their new Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall in 2006. Pacific Symphony’s regular season of concerts runs annually from September to June, and includes Classical, Pops, chamber music, family and youth presentations, and special events serving the multicultural population of Orange County. The Symphony also has a summer season of outdoor concerts held at the new Great Park Amphitheater in Irvine.
