Vision

We want to reduce the suicide rate for Veterans to 0. Since its inception in 1985, the Foundatiion's goal has always been to have the Lifeline For Vets crisis and information toll-free hotline up and running 24/7. Especially in suicide prevention and intervention, trauma sets no schedule and takes no time off. We believe that every call we take is a suicide prevention call. We operate the Lifeline from 9-5 PST Mon-Fri. That we are not able to extend our hours beyond 9-5 and include weekends because of funding means that we miss a lot ot calls. Those calls we miss are the ones that keep us up at night. The human voice communicates and creates connection that can save lives.

Goals

1. 1.Expand the Lifeline for Vets to 24 /7 with funds to hire, train & support staff to work remotely across the nation. We are implementing a media strategy to appeal for sustained corporate funding.
2. 2.Broadcast a constant message to raise awareness of our crisis and information hotline to the general public. The better known we are, the more Veterans we can serve, which will save lives.
3. 3.Become a leading voice on the veteran homeless crisis, advising mayors and the governor from our 38 yr. history. During the pandemic, we expanded our reach to other homeless. We know this territory.
