Heal the Bay

Mission

Heal the Bay is dedicated to making the coastal waters and watersheds of Greater Los Angeles safe, healthy, and clean.

Vision

Heal the Bay envisions a Greater Los Angeles where clean water, healthy ecosystems, and informed communities thrive together.

Goals

1.Protect public health by reducing pollution in coastal waters and watersheds. We will advance stronger stormwater, runoff, wastewater, and pollution prevention strategies across Greater Los Angeles, using science, monitoring, public information, community engagement, and advocacy to reduce risks to people and ecosystems.
2.Advance climate-resilient marine and watershed ecosystems. We will connect climate adaptation, biodiversity protection, restoration science, ecosystem monitoring, education, and rapid-response readiness to strengthen the health and resilience of Greater Los Angeles coastal and watershed ecosystems.
3.Expand equitable access to environmental information, education, and stewardship. We will help more people across Greater Los Angeles access information and opportunities to safely enjoy and protect coastal waters, prioritizing communities facing the greatest barriers to participation and environmental protection.
