The dA Center for the Arts
Mission
The mission of The dA Center for the Arts, a diverse, multi-discipline, non-profit organization, is to provide inclusive accessible, and equitable opportunities in all the arts for all ages and abilities in Pomona and beyond. The dA offers an inviting space for artists, musicians, poets, dancers, actors and community to learn and to have conversations that ignite possibilities and transformative shared experiences. The dA applies all art disciples in classrooms and community spaces to encourage all ages to be understanding, empathic, and creative citizens who are empowered to be advocates for the culture they want to see in their community.
Vision
The dA Center for the Arts envisions a vibrant, inclusive, and culturally rich community where the arts serve as a powerful catalyst for connection, education, and transformation. We aspire to inspire lifelong engagement with the arts, fostering a society that is empowered to express itself.
Goals
- 1.The dA wishes to make the arts more accessible by expanding existing programs to include visits to cultural centers such as art galleries, museums, and performance halls. Los Angeles County and its surrounding regions contain a plethora of these centers, many of which are unknown to countless students in PUSD. It is our goal to give PUSD students a clear image of art pathways and careers.
- 2.The dA is committed to nurturing the next generation of artists by establishing a scholarship fund dedicated to PUSD students pursuing higher education and careers in the arts. Many young creatives face financial barriers that limit their ability to fully explore their artistic potential. This initiative will help ensure that aspiring artists in our community have the support necessary to thrive.
- 3.The dA seeks to strengthen its impact by expanding our team and empowering our staff with mentorship opportunities. As we welcome new members, we are also developing mentorship roles, training select staff to further guide and inspire students in their artistic journeys. By fostering leadership within our team, we ensure that young artists receive the support and guidance they need to grow.
