Bureau of Jewish Education of Greater Los Angeles

Mission

The Bureau of Jewish Education (DBA Builders of Jewish Education) is the independent Los Angeles-based communal organization dedicated to optimizing Jewish education for learners and their families. BJE mobilizes the entire Jewish education system in LA — empowering educators, connecting families to meaningful Jewish learning experiences, and tackling the systemic challenges no single school can solve alone.

Vision

Vision: BJE is committed to making Los Angeles a laboratory for extraordinary Jewish education, where children, their parents and the educators are inspired and empowered with the wisdom and courage to write the next chapter of Jewish history, together.

Goals

1.Support and strengthen the three primary drivers of quality and sustainability in Jewish education: the LEV Institute for Teaching and Leadership (for educators and leaders), the Jewish Family and Teen Learning Institute (for families and children), and the Institute for Sustainable Excellence (for schools and systems).
2.Under the direction of new leadership and management, strategically enhance operations, increase productivity, and align all programs to the mission.
3.Increase accesibility, quality and variety of learning experiences for Los Angeles Jewish teens.
