We largely serve low-income young people, ages 10-24, although our Gallery and Public Programs (shuttered during COVID and anticipated to re-open in mid- to late-2023) serve young people, as well as adults.

Venice Arts has a long history of partnering with other nonprofits, as well as foundation and educational partners. As only one example, we are currently working at the intersection of creative and workforce development and, as such, are a regular part of multiple events and convenings that are looking to build equitable access to the arts and entertainment sectors.

The nonprofit has an opportunity to tell the story of how the organization adapted to tremendous external changes in the last year.
In addition to navigating the significant challenges of COVID-19, we were also deeply impacted by the murder of George Floyd and the (re)activation of the movement for racial justice. As a racially/ethnically diverse organization that largely serves young people of color, we worked diligently to find meaningful ways to support our young people's powerful personal and community storytelling. They found ways to create images, make short videos, write poetry and more that helped them to process the extraordinary pain in their own lives and in the broader community.
