THE SOCIETY WAS ORGANIZED TO DEVELOP AN APPRECIATION OF LITERATURE AND HISTORY THROUGH PROMOTING AND FOSTERING A CONSIDERATION OF AUTHORS, POETS, AND THEIR WORKS BY CONDUCTING MEETINGS AND PRESENTATIONS BY AUTHORS AND POETS TO ENCOURAGE A MUTUAL EXCHANGE OF IDEAS AND UNDERSTANDINGS WITH A VIEW TOWARD INCREASING LITERARY AWARENESS.
