Beyond Blindness

Mission

Beyond Blindness, formerly Blind Children’s Learning Center, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with the mission to empower children with visual impairments and other disabilities to achieve their fullest potential. Areas of service include Early Intervention, Education and Enrichment, and Family Support, which all aim to help children, no matter their abilities, live full and rewarding lives. The Beyond Blindness team embraces a people-first approach and values family, connection, impact, inclusion, stewardship, and optimism.

Goals

1.By end of 2027, Beyond Blindness will be the go-to provider for children with visual impairments and other disabilities and their families in the Greater Orange County area serving 2680 individuals.
2.Beyond Blindness has set targeted goals to expand the unique number of individuals served in three key program areas of Early Intervention, Education and Enrichment, and Family Support.
3.Beyond Blindness will establish a dedicated Advocacy Task Force of the Board of Directors to safeguard and strengthen our services by cultivating strategic relationships at the local, state, and federal levels. The task force will leverage board members’ networks to advance policy, funding, and partnership opportunities that support our mission and long-term sustainability.
