Mission

Founded in 2023 by a New York City dad, SmarterPhone is dedicated to prioritizing our kids’ mental wellbeing. Our goal is to limit smartphone use among children and teens through high school to mitigate the proven harms of social media. We work with schools and parent communities to shore up a common line of defense and reframe the current narrative around this technology away from the inevitable and toward practical, sustainable alternatives.

Goals

1.Broaden our reach by meeting with parent communities at additional schools, one class at a time.
2.Expand our outreach to Black & Hispanic communities where social media use is disproportionally higher.
3.Provide our current parent communities with updates on grade-specific pledge adherence and with information and pricing discounts for alternative communication devices that purposefully restrict all access to social media sites.
