After the Haiti earthquake, the enormity of the suffering and destruction prompted many to quickly reach deep into their pockets and, ultimately, donate more than $1 billion. At the time, to assist donors in making informed choices, Charity Navigator published a Hot Topic, Help Survivors of the Earthquake in Haiti. The document contained giving tips, a selection of 10 high-performing charities that had either worked in Haiti before or had done this type of work in the past, as well as an expanded list of highly-rated charities providing assistance. One of those tips encouraged donors to follow up in the months following the earthquake to find out how their donations were put to use. To help you with that effort, we asked all the charities featured in that Hot Topic to report on their progress. Included in this page are reports from those that responded.
