The worst known outbreak of Ebola is happening right now in West Africa. As of mid September 2014, the World Health Organization reports that the death toll is greater than 1,800 with the total confirmed / probably infected patients growing to nearly 4,000. And the WHO expects the number of infected to grow into the tens of thousands before the outbreak is contained.

To the right, we offer a list of some highly-rated charities tackling this outbreak. This list is a good place to start, whether you just want to learn more about the current Ebola outbreak in Africa or whether you want to support the work of charities that strive to find a cure for Ebola, those that aim to curb the spread of the disease or those that assist those already infected.
