Louisiana Flooding

Historic flooding this summer has caused a substantial amount of damage and destruction in Louisiana. Several people have died in the wake of the flooding and over 20,000 people have been rescued by first responders and the U.S. Coast Guard. In addition, thousands of homes and business are damaged, tens of thousands are without power, 12,000 people are in shelters, and over one hundred roads are closed across the state.

Charities have stepped in to help in a variety of ways, from distributing bottled water and food to providing shelter to displaced victims. But they note that flood relief donations lag behind donations to other recent disasters. If you want to help, then consider making a monetary donation to one of the charities listed here.
