On the morning of Friday, January 15, 2021, a 6.2 magnitude earthquake struck the Indonesian island of Sulawesi. The results were catastrophic as reports soon indicated over 80 people had lost their lives, infrastracture and businesses were demolished, and residences were destroyed leaving 19,000 homeless. The islands of Indonesia had already been facing the heavy rains of the monsoon season making the earthquake even more devastating. Clean water, food, medical supplies, as well as shelter from the elements, are in short supply.
