In accordance with our policy for removing Donor Advisories, Charity Navigator removed the Donor Advisory for WJCT on December 20, 2013 because the Donor Advisory had been in place for more than a year (since November 21, 2013) and because the issues that prompted the Donor Advisory have been resolved. Specifically:

• The organization has amended its FYE 2012 Form 990 such that it now shows fundraising expenses.

Charity Navigator had published a Donor Advisory for this charity because we became aware of the following information in connection with this charity: 

• WJCT had historically reported fundraising expenses on their Form 990.  But the FY 2012 Form 990 listed no fundraising expenses. Based on our experience, charities only rarely are able to raise substantial sums of money without incurring any associated fundraising costs. We reached out to WJCT for clarification, but we did not receive an adequate explanation. After they were notified that a Donor Advisory would be posted, on November 21, 2013, the charity indicated that it would be filing an amended Form 990 for FY 2012 that would show its fundraising expenses. Until at least that time, we were unable to evaluate WJCT and thus maintained the Donor Advisory until we received the amended Form.
